Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature one member of the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.

All the way from sunny So-Cal, we chat with Luis (@jeezluis26), a self-professed Spyderco fan, about all things sharp. Luis works as an auto transporter, and in his downtime, he indulges in an array of outdoor activities. Read on now to find out all about Luis’s unique choice of daily carry!

Featured Tools:

  • Knife: Spyderco (Modified)
My main knife is a Spyderco Techno regrind by Tactical Pterodactyl. This is among my favorite due to its fantastic ergonomics, materials used and just the overall build quality. The regrind makes it for a great looking blade in my opinion. I really use it for anything that requires being cut.

  • SAK: Victorinox
My Victorinox Alox Cadet is just a piece that I just cannot do without. I’ve lost count of how many years exactly, but this Alox Cadet has been with me for a long time now. It’s just a great all around multi-tool that you cannot fault.

  • Flashlight: Olight
My daily carry is an Olight S1 Baton in solid titanium. It’s a great lightweight powerhouse of a light and ticks all the boxes.

  • Utility Tool: Tactical Pterodactyl Knives
This is a prybar/cap lifter from Tactical Pterodactyl Knives. I just carry it around just in case I come across a few bottles of beers that need to drinking, lol.

      Background:

My name is Luis. I am based in the city of Rialto, California. I'm currently working as an auto transporter.

Aside from collecting knives, I'm really into anything fun from sports to camping. The fact that I’m living in So-Cal allows me to enjoy many outdoor activities. At least the ones that my 5-year-old son can do with me.

I really don't remember what sparked the interest I have for EDC. I believe it started with a conversation I was having with a friend, talking knives and what not. Then I went online to look for answers and came to realize that I loved everything I read and saw. It just picked up from there.

      Favorite EDC Tool:

My favorite tool would have to be the Victorinox Cadet because it really has the essentials, plus it's always in my pocket - even at home.

      Next On Your Gear Radar:

The real question is, what isn't on my wishlist! I really like Spyderco and the quality products they make. So I’d love to try a Slysz Bowie sometime in the near future. If not, then maybe a second generation Slysz. The Mouse is also such a great looking knife!

I ordered one of your boxes and got a fountain pen and a journal. I’m sure if I were a daily, writing, journaler I would have loved that but I’m and outdoorsy kind of guy. I would’ve preferred this collection. ?✌?
