Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature one member of the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.

Jacob (@jakesedc) first got into EDC through a friend who gifted him his first knife. Since then, he has been hooked and his EDC has gradually evolved with time. As a fan of Swiss Army Knives, Jacob is looking to add more vintage variants to his rotation. Read on to find out about his obsession with Swiss Army Knives and what’s next on his gear radar.

Featured Tools:

  • Pocket Knife: The James Brand Elko
Small yet mighty, this little beast can handle any cutting task. I really appreciate its sleek and beautiful designs.

  • SAK: Victorinox Cadet in Burgundy
Highly multi-functional with a beautiful color and hand feel.

  • Keychain Knife: Spyderco Manbug
It’s super easy to carry because it’s light, nice and small!

  • Fidget Tool: Creations Unknown Glow Buddy
This adds a fun pop of color to my EDC. It’s great for fidgeting with and a great conversation starter!

      Background:

My name is Jacob Paciello and I’m 22 years old. I live in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania (just outside of Philadelphia). I work for an independent laboratory doing medical billing.

Other than collecting EDC gear, I love to read and watch movies. It’s very calming to me to watch something or read something and escape into another world. I first got into EDC from a good friend of mine. He carries knives every day and I showed interest in it. For Christmas, he bought me a knife and I was instantly hooked.

My EDC has definitely evolved over the past year. I used to carry a lot of bigger and tactical gear but I’ve slimmed it down to just the bare minimum of what I need.

      Favorite EDC Tool:

My favorite EDC is definitely the Swiss Army knives. The different colors and styles make them very fun and collectible. In fact, I base all the other items I carry around my Swiss Army Knives.

      Next On Your Gear Radar:

The next item on my radar will definitely be more vintage Swiss Army Knives. Seeing the patina and age in each one gives them more character and makes them unique.
