Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature one member of the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.

From the "City Beautiful" that is Orlando, Florida, we talk to Rikki (@capt.rikki) who's a full-time videographer and content creator. Capturing sights and sound, Rikki and his camera have filmed everything from roaring lions to majestic elephants, flexing bodybuilders to celebrity weddings. Read on for Rikki's ultra sleek and stylish carry, and find out what's next on his gear radar!

Featured tools:

  • Knife: Peña Knives
The hero of the shot is my Dogleg Jack from Peña Knives. Peña is one of my favorite makers in the knife community. I love his take on a traditional design but with a modern twist. His knives have that magic, the kind that you know will be passed down to your kids or other family member.

  • Phone: iPhone 12
I’m a full-time videographer and content creator. I work for fitness icons like Kai Greene and Scott Herman but I also shoot weddings and commercial gigs. So staying connected is key and if I’m on my phone I like to use leather cases from Bullstrap that build a beautiful patina over time.

  • Notebook: Anchor Heritage Meville Journal Cover
Underneath that I have an Anchor Heritage Meville Journal Cover. It’s beautiful and I love it. It lives in my camera bag and I use it all the time to take notes on set so my editing process is smooth.

  • Hank: Renegage EDC
I ALWAYS carry a Renegade EDC Hank. Chris is someone I consider to be a mentor and close friend in the community. It has a microfiber backing which is perfect for wiping down lenses on shoots.

  • Pry Bar: Vero Engineering
Lastly, my Vero Engineering Fulcrum. I LOVE THIS THING. From fixing tripods to building furniture this guy has seen it all.

My story:

I am based out of Orlando, Florida and I’m a full-time videographer. I love what I do and I’m forever grateful for all the connections I’ve built through my career.

My camera and I have filmed lions and elephants, bodybuilding shows, celebrity weddings, and venues with thousands of people. Each moment extremely special and a massive milestone.

I first got into EDC early in 2019. I’ve always carried a knife, a pen, and other things on me I just never knew there was a community for it. My father always told me “it’s better to be prepared than not” and that’s why I always have my EDC with me.

Most of my free time is spent with my girlfriend Lexie and our pets. We go to Disney often (the advantages of living in Orlando, lol) and we like to travel when we can. Other hobbies are based around music! I love playing my guitar.

Favorite EDC tool:

Out of the items I mentioned that Dogleg Jack is my favorite. I just love the feeling it gives me and the fact that it’s a custom makes it extremely special to me.

What's on my gear radar:

Man… what’s next on my radar… I would love to own a custom Chaves at some point. He’s another maker that I really admire and to own a custom piece would be insane.
