From the picturesque Netherlands, Niels (@edc_and_me) is a newcomer to the world of EDC and is off to a flying start. A father of 2 little kids, he first bought a CRKT Squid for peeling apples and whittling branches for them. Read on for the full story and find out how Niels has made the most of his time at home in recent months to focus on photographing his EDC!

What's in your carry?

  • Knife: CRKT Tuna
I just love knife design of Lucas Burnley! The Tuna is up there design-wise. It's stunning, it handles well and the size is perfect. Not too small, not too big!

  • Key Wallet: FOCX Wallet
This has been in my pocket for years. It conceals the keys which is perfect for me. No more scratching up my phone display. also the leather aged amazing. Like a good wine :)

  • Wallet: FOCX Wallet R.03 Purist
Also from Focx wallet. The R.03 Purist. It holds like 6-8 cards and some cash. Packs away super small and still keep the nice touch of leather

  • Pen: Everyman Grafton Mini Twist
The Everyman Grafton Mini Twist pen is the new kid on the block. But it doesn't disappoint. The balance of this pen is amazing. And it's super smooth!

  • Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
Finally, my Ray-Bans are always with me on sunny days!

What's your story?

I'm Niels from the Netherlands. I'm a project manager in the road design business. I just rolled into the EDC community and it is great fun. I can practice my hobby (photography) at home close to my girl and my 2 little kids! I never really owned knives before but I'm getting hooked and want to buy more ever since I bought the CRKT Squid.

I needed a knife for our family's outdoor activities. Peeling an apple and cutting a branch from the tree for the boys. So I ended up buying de CRKT Squid. I used to shoot landscapes a lot. But since we are basically forced to stay at home I searched for some things to shoot around the house. At the same time, I found the EDC community. That's when I started to shoot pictures of my EDC!

In my free time, I'm into hiking, photography, cycling, oh and.....playing with the kids :)

Favorite EDC Tool?

Definitely the Tuna. Knives are fairly new to me, so that's nice. I love to flick it open like 100 times a day. That sound is so satisfying :)

What's On Your Gear Radar?

A bloody EDC Coin. I've got tons of photography concepts for a coin I can't count them all. Also, some of them are truly badass.
