Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature a member of the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.

From Dayton, Ohio, we chat over the air-comms with Jeffrey (@the_real_jeff19) who is a drone pilot. Growing up as a cub scout and boy scout (and now a proud Eagle Scout), he's already well-versed in the virtues of knives and tools. Read on for the full rig rundown and find out how Jeffrey stays prepared at all times.

Featured Tools:

  • Knife: Spyderco Para 3 (customised)
For the last few months I've been carrying a Spyderco Para 3 with Ripps Garage Tech Micarta scales and a Lynch Clip. I've had the knife for about 4 years but I decided to upgrade it a few months ago and I've been loving it! The Lynch Clip fixes my only gripe I had with the knife (the stock clip). My Para 3 was my first high end knife so it's really special to me!

  • Flashlight: Olight Warrior Mini 2
This last winter I really got into flashlights and discovered the Olight Warrior Mini 2 and I decided that was the perfect light for me. Then I saw the Mountain Sky special edition and decided I really wanted one! I love hiking, mountains, and pretty much anything outdoors so I think that light is the coolest thing!

  • Multi-tool: Leatherman Micra
I've had a Leatherman Micra for about 10 years. I recently had to get a new one because I finally managed to loose my first one for good. I always rave to people about how good the scissors are! They're so much better than any other multi-tool scissors!

  • Secondary flashlight: Rovyvon Aurora
I discovered the Rovyvon Aurora early on when I was getting into flashlights. Since they're cheap I decided to pick one up and they are such a great value light! I have way nicer lights than it now, but I still carry it as a backup light!

  • Pen: Pilot G2 Mini
My first EDC pen was an Olight open, but I had a friend misplace it on a backpacking trip. While I've been waiting for a new one I've been carrying a Pilot G2 Mini. It writes great and is a super great value pen!

  • Pouch/wallet: Amazon (Gentlestache)
My pouch/wallet for the last few months has been a cheap one I found on Amazon (Gentlestache). It's got tons of pockets and loops inside, and it's been working perfectly for me!

  • Watch (not in picture): Garmin Instinct
I've been wearing a Garmin Instinct for almost 2 years and it's been amazing! It's a great watch if you want a smart watch tailored for outdoor activities!

What's your story:

My name is Jeffrey, and I'm a drone pilot based out of Dayton, Ohio! I grew up as a cub scout and boy scout (now an Eagle Scout!) so I've always been into knives, flashlights, and being prepared.

This last year has been a really busy year for me (finished out most of my remaining college) so I didn't have much time for my hobbies until I discovered EDC!

In my free time I like to hike, run, climb, camp, pretty much anything outdoors! Recently I've been spending a lot of time hiking and creeking!

Favorite EDC Tool:

My favorite EDC item is my Spyderco Para 3. It's been such a solid knife for all the years I've owned it!

What's On Your Gear Radar:

The next piece of gear on my radar is a Bradford Guardian 3. Recently I've been getting into fixed blades because me and my wife are moving to Alaska soon! I've been looking at good EDC fixed blades and so far the Guardian has been my favorite! I'm hoping to find it with the sheepsfoot blade and Jade G10 so I can rit dye the handle!
