Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature one member of the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.

X marks the spot! Today, we chat with Brad (@screamingpirateedc) about his swashbuckling everyday carry. Curated to be compact and highly functional, Brad's EDC makes light work of daily tasks. Read on to find out what this modern-day pirate packs in his arsenal.

Featured Tools:

  • Knife: McNees MAC2 3.5
I am still carrying one of my favorite EDC knives of all time - the McNees MAC2 3.5. This is the prototype from Blade Show 2021 and finds its way into my pocket almost every week. Slices and carries very well.

  • Pen: Fisher Bullet Space Pen
Here I've the Fisher Bullet Space Pen in cerakote. The Fisher Bullet Space Pen is a great pen if I am going out to a bar or it is raining and I know it will still write and stay in my hand because of the cerakote texture.

  • Flashlight: Reylight Pineapple Mini
Reylight Pineapple Mini is my staple when I know I will be out at night so I have a reliable flashlight.

  • Fidget tool: 52 Graves EDC Death Cookie
The main EDC item I cannot put down is my collaboration Death Cookie with 52 Graves EDC, which is very fun to toss around, but also is a source of pride.

  • Knuck: Maulini Mob SkellyVamp
The SkellyVamp is actually a knuck and is there to fidget with, but also if I need to protect myself. I mostly use it to spin around my middle finger.

  • Pry bar: Lynch Lightweight Pry
All my tools for my EDC are chosen because they are compact, do not weigh much, and fit in my EDC pouch. I use the pry mostly for opening beer bottle, if I'm completely honest, lol.

      Background

I got into EDC right after I earned my 2nd degree. I was working in IT imaging laptops and had to open boxes and repackage laptops all day. At the time I did not have a good knife.

So, after a little research I found the Spyderco Para 3. This just got me going down the Spyderco Sprint Run rabbit hole. Right now my main hobbies are reviewing and photographing EDC items over on Screaminpirate EDC, but what I love doing is smoking meat on my smoker. Hell, I even love smoked queso.

If I have any free time at all I spend it taking photographs or playing video-games on PC. Cyberpunk 2077 is my addiction of choice currently.

      Favorite EDC Tool:

Not sure I would call it a 'tool', but the Death Cookie by 52 Graves and myself is easily my favorite EDC item currently. Great to fidget with.

The Death Cookie was originally intended to mark the location of a self-defense item in your home because they glow in the dark. This was useful because you did not have to turn on the lights when there might be an intruder.

Now? They are what Aaron over at 52 Graves EDC calls 'pocket treasure'. It's a rubber composite so it is a bit squishy and fun to fidget with. It's my favorite EDC item right now because it is a good conversation starter without being threatening in any way like a knuck or knife could possibly be.

      What's On Your Gear Radar:

Definitely on the lookout for an EDC dump tray, but as far as upcoming gear? The Null Knives Voodoo.
