Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature one member from the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.
For this week’s showcase, we have an Urban EDC Showcase alumnus in Landon (@lonestar_edc) who was featured last year. Landon is now a project manager for a commercial roofing contractor, and his EDC too has changed considerably. Read on for the full details of how his daily carry has evolved and matured over time!
Featured Tools:
Background:
I've always believed in at least carrying a pocket knife, but I really got into EDC about two years ago when I found the EDC community on Instagram. It really becomes an addiction once you start collecting quality made knives and gear. I bought a used Spyderco Techno from someone in the Instagram knife community, and the rest is history!
Looking back, my EDC has definitely simplified over time. I used to carry several different kinds of pocket tools and things like that.
I think the reason for the change was just the realization that I wasn't benefiting from the extra gear in my pockets. I don't like carrying an EDC pouch, so I'm limited to just the pockets on my jeans. My philosophy has definitely become "the more efficient, the better".
It also goes back to carrying a Swiss Army knife every day. Aside from carrying a larger, more robust knife for more heavy duty tasks, there isn't much I come across that I can't use a Swiss Army Knife for.
Favorite EDC Tool:
My favorite thing to carry would be one of my many Swiss Army Cadets. I literally have one on me at all times unless I'm asleep. And even then it's never far away!
