Love a good, short week! Carried light this week, and wanted to try some of our latest gadgets. Give 'em a nice field test if you will.

Isham Bladeworks Blackstar V2 (Exclusive) - Elijah's designs can be spotted from a mile away. He has a very unique aesthetic that mixes modernity and classicism very well. I wanted to give this Blackstar V2 a run for it's money this week, and have been carrying it as my main blade. The Urban EDC exclusive bronze anodization is my favorite (bias aside lol). I do have a soft spot for bronze. There are a few things that made this knife hard to put down. First, I love that it has a pocket clip. Many slip joints, and therefore slipjoint-like knives usually don't have them. I prefer clipped knives and it makes it easier to grab when I only have one hand available. Second, the flipping action and detent on this knife not only make it a breeze to open, but provide immense fidget factor (and yes, Yong-Soo did have to ask me to stop clicking it open and closed). Third, I love the solid backspacer. It looks cool, and helps to keep some lint out. All in all, this M390 non-locking flipper really outdid itself in my opinion.

Vox Tiny Orwell – I began collecting EDC gadgets back when the Noah's Ark or animal shaped bottle openers was brimming. However, with as many as there were, Vox to me will always be the true OG. That is why I own almost every creature he has made (the sulky seahorse continues to elude me). The triple anodization and anchor stamp are what drew me to this tiny orwell. I love the ocean and this reminds me of mornings waking up at the shore. Plus, the subtle, tumbled ano matches the Blackstar's same kind of finish and makes for a great set.

Hinderer Investigator Pen - Titanium - When bumming around the office, erm, I mean, working - I need to write on a lot of different surfaces. From tape to plastic bags, to actual paper, the fisher space pen is my go to. So, when I saw that the bronze anodized Hinderer Investigator pen used that cartridge I leapt for joy. I think that this pen really rounds out this carry. Plus, It has been know to open a few boxes with the end when I forget to re-clip my knife to my pocket.

Jou Fuu Leather Card Wallet - I picked this up when I met the Jou Fuu team at Blade Show 2019. They are pretty cool cats and make some unreal stuff - like a top hat that took all the self control in the world not to leave with. I love the way this caramel brown has patina'd to a darker color and it really ties in the bronze carry. Not to mention the killer logo and minimal size of this wallet. Bud really makes some great designs, and I am happy to have this in my pocket this week!

Orijin Design Thinking Egg - If you tuned in last week, you know I am now a champion of the Orijin Thinking Egg. These nifty asymmetrical fidgets are perfect for regaining focus. (I need all the help I can get)! Grab one, and you will see what I mean.

Until next time- Carry Strong,
Shawne
