We're very proud to present the Urban EDC Gnat Swarm Series XL. This has been over a year in the making in collaboration with Justin Koch, an esteemed knife maker and designer based in Pennsylvania.
We took Justin Koch's best-selling Gnat model and upgraded it even further with M390 steel, a bottle-opener integrated straight into the blade tang, multiple scale options (including micarta, G10, or aluminum), titanium hardware (including the sculpted pocket clip), a lanyard hole, and a double-detent non-locking mechanism.
If you’ve been looking for the ultimate EDC blade, this is going to be a top contender for the coveted spot in your pocket. Due to its non-locking nature and small blade length, the Urban EDC Gnat-S XL can be safely and legally carried in most countries. It might quite possibly be the most utilitarian, carry-friendly EDC knife in the world.
For our first production run, you’ve got options. The first configuration is ready for the battle scars that come with daily use. The blade features a stonewashed finish with OD Green canvas micarta handles. If you prefer a more classic Koch Tools visual punch, the black DLC-coated option with orange G10 scales, or the satin-finished blade with purple anodized aluminum option might be more your style.
