Beautifully functional, the blades are forged in Japan with 33 layers of San Mai Steel with a core of VG10, giving the blade its unique patterned look, incredible strength, and an amazingly resilient edge. The handles – designed for extended kitchen use in mind – are made from environmentally-friendly, recycled oak wood or brown or black micarta. In addition, they are treated with a special sealing method to keep out the damp and maintain its durability and beauty throughout its lifetime.
