A Golden Hand
Bringing art and beauty into the everyday arena, the Golden Spike deck from Black Ink Playing Cards is truly a work of functional art that's bound to turn heads and start conversations at the table.
Inspired by the completion of the 1st Transcontinental Railroad on May 10th, 1869, the Golden Spike deck features custom artwork depicting the iconic Golden Spike that was driven into the ground where the Union Pacific met the Central Pacific Railroad at Promontory Point, Utah.
Each playing card deck has been illustrated using a cross-hatch technique to mimic the style of engraving and lithographs that were common to the time period. In addition, each card is unique and comes with its own backstory – a testament to the time and effort that went into this project.
When the hammer rang out and the golden spike was driven into the ground, a new era of industry and expansion rang out across the United States. In the same way, the labor of love that is the Golden Spike deck from Black Ink Playing Cards is here to usher in a new generation of art and cards.
