Krein Knives

Pre-Owned: Krein Knives Pocket Hunter - Westinghouse Micarta (Custom)

Compact Powerhouse

Condition: Excellent

After handling a diverse array from different time periods of Krein Knives in recent months, one thing stands out above all. When it comes to sheer consistency of craftsmanship, Tom Krein reigns supreme. Every line, cut, and curve on every piece is sublime, and it goes to show the level of effort and dedication that goes into these handmade wonders.

True to Tom Krein's style, the custom Krein Knives Pocket Hunter is a no-nonsense, pocket-sized fixed blade that punches way above its weight class. It features a full tang construction for maximum strength and stability made from 3/16″ thick D2 Tool Steel with an impeccable hollow ground blade.

The blade is complemented with a Bowie-style forward swedge and comfortable thumb ridges for optimal control and handling. Another astute design choice is the gorgeous Westinghouse Micarta handle, which is superbly lightweight, corrosion-resistant and virtually indestructible.

Working out of Gentry, Arkansas, Tom Krein has been honing his craft since 1993 and has worked with knife-making legends such as Bob Dozier and the late and great A.G. Russell. He’s famed in the custom knife world for his “form follows function” approach, and that ethos is brought to life in the beautifully compact yet highly competent powerhouse that is the Krein Knives Pocket Hunter.
