Modern-day Slip Joint
Designed by custom knifemaker, Lucas Burnley, and produced out of Maniago, Italy, the MKM Burnley Cellina is a stellar continuation of MKM's collaboration with top-tier American custom makers to create a line of outstanding (yet accessible) blades that will stand the test of time and trends.
Originally designed for the European market (hence the non-locking slip joint design), the MKM Burnley Cellina was introduced to the USA because of the increased demand for traditional knives. Which is no surprise considering the ease-of-use and simple elegance of the slip joint blades that used to ride in the pockets of our predecessors.
Paying homage to the Maniago river, Lucas Burnley's pointy drop point blade on the Cellina symbolizes a traditional arrowhead and evokes the darts of light reflecting from the glittery ancient river. The M390 blade is complemented by the equally svelte handle – which comes in your choice of sleek black aluminum, green canvas micarta, bronze anodized titanium or warm wood scales.
While there's no lock, the Cellina comes with a sturdy spring with a half-stop safety to prevent accidental closures. A robust stainless steel back-spacer, extended pommel end with lanyard hole attachment, blue anodized pivot collars and a custom leather carrying sheath completes this sleek and stylish slicer.
