Roe Hostile Gentleman

Roe Hostile Gentleman - Natural Micarta (Custom)

Dapper yet Dangerous

Mark Roe's knife making journey is as interesting as his character. Mark first met Scott Sawby (yes, the legendary Scott Sawby) and Steve Mullin (Scott's former knifemaking partner) in 2002 and started learning to make fixed blade knives.

Following that, Mark took over the reins as a full-time maker crafting Steve's Pack River Knife designs and some of his own designs. Experiencing burn-out (due to the immense backlog and popularity), Mark returned to his career as a Metrologist. But now he is back to making his own knives full-time (and the entire knife community is all the better for it).

The Roe Hostile Gentleman exhibits all of Mark's immense expertise, experience and elegance when it comes to shaping sharpened steel. Designed, by the one and only Jared Van Otterloo, as a compact gentleman's blade with a snappy bite, the Hostile Gentleman features a hand-rubbed satin RWL-34 blade that cuts through any and all with ease.

The handles too exceed all expectations with its polished natural micarta scales (over 30 years old), custom pivot collars, and satin titanium bolsters (with hidden screws, of course). Matching satin titanium liners – suitably jeweled on both sides – and a lightweight bent titanium pocket clip (again with hidden screws) complete this breathtaking work of functional art.

As one of the most highly sought after modern knife makers (and torchbearer of Scott Sawby's legacy), Mark's blades are staggeringly popular and his books are almost always closed (or it comes with a long waiting list). So, we're proud and lucky to have one of these extremely rare and dapper Hostile Gentleman in stock. Make your move now because these will definitely go fast.
