Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature a member of the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.

Coming to us from France, we shoot the breeze with Jean-Marc (@edc_fr68) who's forever 50 years young. Jean-Marc's first introduction to EDC was through his father, who always had a knife and a tool on him. Following in his father's footsteps, Jean-Marc has now collected over 50 folder, 40 fixed blades and more. Read on for the full story, and find out all about this simple and stylish carry.

Featured Tools:

  • Knife: We knife Pen Baculus Ti
I wanted one for long and jump on it when I saw it available. I know WE for long time for their high quality knives and wanted to try their other products. Great daily one perfectly finished. Really like it for office work.

  • Knife 2: Chaves Knives
Chaves knife, inevitable! Difficult to grab on in France, hopefully some of our dealers have short stock from time to time. I have a light use of it, mainly for food. One my preferred folder.

  • Flashlight: Olight Warrior Mini TI
A classic! For me, one of the best daily flashlight. Finish and ergonomic + power makes for a great combo.

  • Coin: Titanium Coin
Cool titanium coin I got as a gift, don't know where it comes from but really like. Magnetic fidget made of 2 rotating parts. Addictive.

What's your story:

I was in air industry for about 25 years for the biggest companies. Now, I'm my boss, and work as a trainer for logistics schools, English lessons for various levels, IT for beginners, and multiple other subjects.

My father was an EDC guy many years ago. I'm 50 and as far I can remember, he had always some stuff with him. It was knife, flashlights, pens, some gears, etc. I walked in his steps and now with internet and all the companies selling online, I can buy the gear I like but also discover new products.

In my free time I like to hike and use my equipments (fixed blades, hiking stuff etc).

Favorite EDC Tool:

That's a difficult question, I have around 50 folders, 40 fixed, multiple pens, pry bars, 40 flashlights, I like them all ;)

I buy mainly for the look, but also for the material they are made off, the location they are made...

What's On Your Gear Radar:

I give more focus on fixed blade and recently bought a TRC and Tops after bought Cold Steel and Fox, pics would come soon. I also bought a Medford but was not really impressed as there's some scratches on it and I didn't wanted to get it and returned to the dealer.
