Welcome to the Urban EDC Showcase! Each week, we feature a member of the EDC community and the gear they rely on every day. Want to be featured? Submit your gear photo.

All the way from sunny Singapore, we talk to Manfred (@ml.edc) who has conquered both land and sea as an avid hiker and diver. As such, he has developed a deep appreciation for high-quality gear that he can rely on come hell or high water. Read on for a detailed rig rundown and find out how Manfred merges sleek form with sublime function.

What's in your carry?

  • Flashlight: Prometheus Beta-QR V2
I don’t use my light very often, but when I need it, it comes in extremely handy.

  • Knife: Chris Reeves Small Sebenza 31
I use my knife to open packages, letters, loose threads etc. I also move around between a few apartments/offices so it comes in handy at times for small food prep tasks

  • Watch: Lorier Gemini
The reason I really enjoy this watch is because of the chronograph function. I use it quite a bit throughout the day to time things such as the blooming period of my Chemex coffee, time in between meetings, meeting durations etc. Yes, I can use a phone, but there's something I enjoy about using a mechanical piece instead.

  • Multitool: Victorinox Compact w/ Swiss Bianco titanium scales
My Multitool sits in my bag, I use the scissors and nail file pretty often for minor on the go grooming, the other tools come in handy at certain times.

  • Prybar: Lynch Northwest All Access Pass V1.5 Fade Ano
I very rarely pry, but I have this in my bag just in case. I also enjoy having a beer once in a while with friends, so I do use the bottle opener pretty often.

  • Pen: Tactile Turn Pen w/ Damascus Bolt
I write a lot throughout the day, meeting notes, new ideas, random thoughts etc. Definitely prefer paper and pen over typing into my phone.

What's your story?

This is what I usually carry around as an entrepreneur/freelancer based in Singapore. I have a small selection of each item, so my carry varies depending on my mood and needs on that particular day.

I really enjoy this setup as it’s comprised of quality gear that’s enjoyable to use, sleek enough to fit in an urban city environment, yet tough enough to withstand my occasional outdoor adventures.

I’ve been “into” EDC for a pretty long time, but haven’t really dived into it until a few months ago. In my free time, I enjoy spending my free time diving and hiking, so having quality gear that I can rely on is something I value.

Favorite EDC Tool?

My favorite piece of gear in this carry would definitely be the Sebenza 31. I LOVE this knife, it’s classy enough to go with a suit but also extremely solid and can withstand whatever I throw at it during my outdoor adventures.

What's On Your Gear Radar?

A few custom flashlights, Shirogorov F95R Slim, Bob Terzuola ATCF, 3” Damacore Shamwari... the list is endless! 😅
